Some groomers might show up in pressed uniforms with perfectly styled hair, but that’s not my vibe. I’m more likely to greet you with wild-colored hair, cool tattoos, and an absolutely ridiculous amount of dog hair on my clothes (occupational hazard!)
For 14 years, I’ve been turning scruffy pups into dapper doggos, but here’s a little secret:
I almost hung up my clippers for good
After years in high-volume salons where stress levels were through the roof (both for humans and pups), I was ready to trade my grooming tools for a Target name tag.
But then… poof everything changed
I discovered that grooming doesn’t have to be chaotic. It doesn’t have to stress out the dogs, their humans, or the groomer. And so, Wizards of Paws was born – a place where we take things slow, keep it quiet, and make sure every pup feels like the only star in the show (because they are!)
Meet Faust and Feyre, my standard poodles and official test subjects for all things grooming! These two fluffy goofballs help me perfect new techniques and occasionally rock some pretty wild hairstyles (someone’s gotta test out those creative grooming ideas, right?)
Fun fact: Feyre’s name comes from my favorite book series, and she lives up to her name. An adventurous spirit – especially when it comes to trying new hairstyles!

Once upon a time, there was a dog groomer who was about to give up her magic wand forever…
After years of working in high-volume salons, where the daily symphony was a chorus of stressed barks and rushed goodbyes, I was ready to hang up my clippers. The assembly-line style of grooming was wearing me down – too many dogs, too little time, and way too many tears (both from the pups and, honestly, from me).
I was literally planning my escape to Target (yes, really!), trading my grooming tools for a name tag and leaving behind a career I once loved. After 10 years of grooming, the magic seemed to have faded.
But then I met Ash, a groomer who showed me that there was a different path. One where grooming could be peaceful. Where dogs didn’t have to be stressed. Where groomers didn’t have to cry in their cars during lunch breaks.
Working alongside Ash opened my eyes to what grooming could be – calm, personal, and actually enjoyable for everyone involved. For the first time in years, I remembered why I fell in love with grooming in the first place.
When the opportunity came to take over my own space in this magical building (complete with veterinarians and a canine cancer non-profit as neighbors!), I knew it was time to create my own kind of magic.
In January 2023, Wizards of Paws officially became its own enchanted entity (okay, LLC, but enchanted entity sounds more magical, right?).
I created a salon where:
-One dog = one groomer’s complete attention
-Breaks are totally okay (sometimes we all need a breather!)
-Photos updates keep pet parents in the loop
-Every dog’s quirks are celebrated, not rushed through
-The only timeline that matters is your dog’s comfort level
When you remove the stress and rush from grooming, something magical happens. Dogs who used to fear the groomer now walk through our door willingly. And that’s the kind of magic that makes this grooming goblin’s heart grow three sizes.
